Israeli Alert and Maneuvers.. As "Honest Promise 3" Iranian Operation Approaches

Military Confrontation Probabilities Increase with Approaching Political Transformations and Changing Regional Power Balances

Israeli media outlets, including "Walla" and "Srugim" websites, reviewed details of Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Hertzi Halevi's instructions to raise alert levels across the military, amid intelligence reports about imminent Iranian military preparations.
Halevi indicated that raising readiness targets "confronting potential sabotage actions from the Iranian regime in the upcoming period", while military sources revealed deployment of additional air defense systems in strategic areas.
Media sources explained the Israeli movement came after indicators of escalating internal crises within the Iranian regime, especially following reduced influence of its regional arms in Lebanon and Syria, which intensified with tightened economic sanctions.
Military experts pointed to Tehran facing multiple challenges before potential Trump presidency return, including local currency deterioration, energy sector problems, and escalating popular demonstrations, potentially pushing the regime to adventure externally to distract from internal issues.
Israeli sources revealed unprecedented Revolutionary Guard movements in several strategic locations, coinciding with intensifying military supplies to regional proxies, particularly Hezbollah, Iraqi and Syrian militias.
Security sources discussed strategic transformations in the Middle East, militarily and economically, which raised Iranian leadership concerns about its regional influence, especially with growing anti-Tehran regional alliances.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei declared the inevitability of responding to Israeli strikes targeting Iranian sites in October 2024, while intelligence reports revealed intensive Revolutionary Guard leadership meetings planning "Honest Promise 3" operation.
Israeli reports indicated the military recently conducted extensive maneuvers simulating multiple scenarios to respond to potential Iranian attacks, including evacuation and critical infrastructure protection drills.
Strategic analysts believe the coincidence of Iranian threats with regional political transformations, especially approaching US elections, might push Tehran to adventure with a limited military action to improve its future negotiation position.
